AERO Standards
The school's program is based on American Education Reaches Out (AERO) standards, a set of standards developed by the American State Department for American schools overseas. More details can be found at www.projectaero.org.
Early Childhood Education
Our early childhood education features a balanced program allowing the children to learn and grow in a nurturing and welcoming school environment. We place special emphasis on the children's social and emotional development.
Students learn through fun and engaging classroom and outdoor activities. For this reason, we work with the children to help them develop the character traits and the values needed for today's complex world.
Curricular Offering
In addition to their core classes in Mathematics, Science, English and Humanities, primary grades children have classes in Information & Communication Technology, Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Physical Education, Arabic, and French.
This rich and balanced curricular offering allows the children to thrive and to explore their passions and interests.
Core Classes
Mathematics, Science, English, and Humanities build strong academic foundations.
Languages
Arabic and French are introduced in preschool and taught through high school.
Arts and Movement
Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Physical Education, and ICT round out student learning.
Beyond the Classroom
Beyond the classroom, the School is a vibrant community with cultural, academic, artistic, and interest-based activities. Young children participate in field trips, co-curricular activities, school concerts, assemblies, and other events.
These experiences nurture curiosity and develop a sense of exploration.
Field Trips
ASB values school excursions because they help students become more well-rounded young people with stronger critical-thinking skills, increased empathy, higher levels of tolerance, and a greater appreciation for art and culture.
The region offers art, museums, and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Hands-on and virtual enrichment opportunities cultivate understanding and appreciation so students return to cultural institutions in the future.
